Origin and care
Light requirement: a lot of light
The Alocasia originates from the tropics of Asia, especially from India. These plants are also called Elephant Ear. The plants thrive best with a consistently moist soil. Slightly less in winter, a little more in summer, but preferably no large quantities in one go. The Alocasia also likes it when it is sprayed very regularly.
The Alocasia thrives best in sunlight. So place the plant near a window. Too little light and the plant will grow its leaves towards the light.
Give the Alocasia some liquid food once a month during the growing period. Fertilizing is not necessary in winter.
