The Calathea Marion is a very striking plant with beautiful white markings in the dark and light green leaves. The underside of the leaves is beautifully colored red. The Calathea originates from tropical areas in America such as Brazil and Columbia. Its nickname is also 'the Living Plant' since the Calathea closes its leaves during the night, and re-opens every morning. Calathea's also bring clean air! In your home, significant amounts of harmful gas particles are captured by the leaves of this plant and they give oxygen in return! Care
A Calathea is not only a beautiful plant to look at, it also has an air-purifying effect. Put the plant in a bright place, but not in direct sunlight. A place a little further in the room is also fine. Spray the leaves at least once a week, because as a jungle plant it needs high humidity. Eventually, the Calathea can grow up to approximately 100 cm. Furthermore, the Calathea is not toxic for pets!
