The Chamaerops Humilis originates from Europe. This palm is not very big compared to other palms. The Dutch name is therefore logical: European Dwarf Palm or Dwarf Fan palm. Loved by its winter hardiness and tolerance of direct sunlight.
The Chamaerops Humilis should not be dry. Especially on warm days the ground when the plant is outside in a large pot. Give the plant water once every five days in the summer, and once a week in the winter.
For indoors: The amount of water depends on, among other things, the size of the palm and the size of the planter. Therefore start with small amounts of water per irrigation. If the soil is still very wet after 4 days, reduce the amount of water.
The Chamaerops Humilis requires a minimum of 5 hours of direct sunlight. When the Chamaerops Humilis is moved outwards, where the palm was previously located a bit further away from the window, it is necessary to gradually get used to direct sunlight. When the palm is exposed to direct sunlight without habituation, the leaf can burn. But do not worry, the palm will quickly create new leaves which are perfectly resistant to direct sunlight.
