Chamaerops Humilis - Dwarf Palm
|Height (incl. pot)||± 45 cm|
|Pot size||15 cm|
The Chamaerops Humilis originates from Europe. This palm does not grow very large compared to other palms. The Dutch name is therefore also logical: European Dwarf Palm or Dwarf Waaierpalm. Loved for its hardiness and tolerance of direct sunlight.
The Chamaerops Humilis should not be allowed to stand dry. Especially on warm days the soil if the plant is outside in a large pot. For example, water the plant once every five days in the summer, and once a week in the winter.
For indoor use: The amount of water depends on, among other things, the size of the palm and the size of the planter. Therefore, start with small amounts of water per watering. If the soil is still very wet after 4 days, reduce the amount of watering.
The Chamaerops Humilis needs at least 5 hours of direct sunlight. When the Chamaerops Humilis is moved outside, where the palm used to be a little further from the window inside, it is necessary to gradually get it used to direct sunlight. If the palm is placed in direct sunlight without habituation, the leaf can burn. But don't worry, the palm will quickly produce new leaves, which are perfectly resistant to direct sunlight.
