The origin of this member cactus is Brazil. The plants grow in the trees and need little water. The plant can be put in the sun in the winter and more protected in the summer. To get the Schlumbergera (after flowering) back into bloom, it must have short days starting in early September. Place the plant in an unlit room in a bedroom for example. After a month you will see clear button development. After another month the Schlumbergera will be in full bloom again.
Extra tip: if the faded flowers are regularly removed, the plant is stimulated to grow other flower buds.
