The Chamaedorea Metallica is native to the rainforests of Mexico and often grows in limestone soils up to 600 m above sea level. The Chamaedorea Metallica palm is the only palm with a dark metallic blue-green sheen that tends towards a bronze color. The leaves have the shape of a fish tail and grow straight upwards, whereby the leaves can be 75 cm long and 30 to 40 cm wide. It thrives best in moist humus-rich soil and regular misting is recommended. Plants are not hardy but can tolerate low temperatures.
The Chamaedorea does not like a dry soil, so water often but only give a little at a time so that the roots do not rot.
