About the plant
The olive tree (Latin name: Olea Europaea) is the oldest known cultivated tree in history. It is a beautiful evergreen tree that will bring a Mediterranean touch to your garden or balcony. Of course they can also produce really edible olives if it is a very hot summer! Olive trees are very hardy, so they are perfect for the Dutch backyard. It is important to ensure that the tree is sheltered and in direct sunlight in winter. The olive is an evergreen tree with thick, leathery leaves that grow in opposite pairs along the stem.
Care
The olive trees are ideal for any garden. You can plant them in pots and put them on the patio, but they can also simply be placed in the ground. Olive trees like a sunny position and absolutely do not like wet feet. When the tree is kept in a pot, always make sure that there are enough holes in the bottom of the pot. Water regularly in spring and summer. Pruning is not necessary for the time being, but this is best done in early spring or autumn (around October). The plant has enough water, but can be fertilized once in a while with Mediterranean plant food, but this is not necessary.
Plant height
These olive trees are delivered in total height of approximately 40-50cm (this is measured including pot). The plants are supplied in pots with a diameter of 14 cm.
It is best to transplant them into larger decorative pots with a diameter of at least 20 cm after receipt.
