The story behind special orchids
Honor who is due: Phalaenopsis is the absolute pioneer in the family of Orchidaceae, which has made the general public familiar with the exotic beauty of orchids. This plant family, however, has many more beautiful bloomers, equally easy to handle and certainly charismatic. And those exclusive undiscovered treasures deserve to become better known, if only because they fit so well in the current living trend of a bit of mystery and supernatural forms.
Origin of special orchids
Orchids are herbaceous, perennial plants and occur almost everywhere in the wild, both in warmer and cooler regions, even though 85% are from the tropics and subtropics. The flower of an orchid is easy to distinguish from other flowers. It is made up of three sepals and three petals. The middle petal is different in shape, somewhat larger and is called the lip. That lip is a kind of platform for insects to easily reach the center of the flower. In the center the pollen clump is also called a stamp. All plants in the orchid family always have the same flowerbed.
Biggest misunderstanding is that the orchid is difficult to care for. She is just that easy! With a little extra attention, almost all orchids bloom several times a year. And of course, the thousands of different types of orchids do not all shine with the same care. Yet there are some general tips that make most orchids happy. You can go a long way with the guidelines below. Ask when purchasing if there are specific tips!
