More information
The String of Bananas is a family of the well-known String of Pearls (better known in the Netherlands as the pea plant). The funny shape of the leaves is reminiscent of bananas.
Originally the Senecio Radicans comes from South Africa. In the wild, these cute succulents grow on the bottom like a creeping plant. In the living rooms, these nice plants are mainly used as hanging plants. A very big advantage is that the Senecio Radicans prefers a sunny position/hanging place, so that it can be hung directly at the window.
Care
Since the String of Bananas is a succulent, it needs very little water. In the summer, watering 1x every 2 weeks is enough for the plant and in winter even 1x a month. If you are not sure whether you should water the plant again, you can tell by the bananas. When these begin to shrivel a little, the water supply is almost exhausted and the plant is thirsty. The String of Bananas is fine in a sunny place!
The Senecio Radicans comes in a hanging pot with a diameter of 12 cm. The length of the plant is between 10 and 20 centimeters on delivery.
