The Jatropha is originally from the tropical parts of Asia and Africa and belongs to the Euphorbiaccae (Euphorbia)
The species Jatropha Podagrica (or Buddha belly plant) has a swollen trunk that does justice to the name "Buddha Belly". The large leaves are dark green at the top and grayish at the bottom. The plant has coral-red flowers.

The Jatropha Podagrica is for sale from March to October.


Like a lot of sunlight but not in the bright sun. A place in the windowsill is ideal.

Keep moist, the potting soil must not dry out:

Water the Jatropha regularly. Certainly if the plant receives a lot of sunlight, it needs a lot of water. A Jatropha is a tropical plant and therefore also likes moisture. It really can't have drought, but the feet don't like wet plants either. Water about 3 times a week, the amount of water depends on the size of the pot, but make sure that the soil remains moist. Simply watering on top of the potting soil is fine, but putting the pot in a layer of water for a few minutes is also a good way to water.

Remove yellow leaves:

It is possible that the lower leaf will turn yellow due to various factors. This does not mean that the Jatropha will die. Simply remove this yellow leaf and your Jatropha is beautiful again
