The Crossandra Fortuna is a member of the Acanthaceae family. The Crossandra has its origin in India, Malaysia, Sri Lanka and Madagascar. The plant is mainly used in India in performing various traditions. The flowers are used there for decoration. The strong, non-scented flowers are very popular because of their bright color and good shelf life. The Crossandra can continue to bloom from March to October with new orange petals.
Care
The flowering period of the plant begins in the spring and ends in the fall. To keep the plant looking beautiful, it is recommended to remove dead flowers regularly. The plant likes sunlight but try to avoid putting the plant in full sunlight. The plant requires regular watering, do not allow the soil to dry out. In the winter months, the plant needs less water and the soil may become drier. It is recommended to fertilize the Crossandra a few times a year. The plant will grow to about 100 centimeters in height.
