Heliconia

The Heliconia looks like a cross between the Indian reed palm, bird of paradise flower and banana plant. In nature, the plant can grow up to 5 meters high, but before you have your ceiling removed: in the house it will be about 30 cm. The bracts that make a party of the special plant grow among the large, sprightly leaves. They are striking red, round, pointed shapes with a hint of green and yellow. Between the bracts grow small inconspicuous red, orange, yellow or pink flowers. You can choose the upright or hanging inflorescences.
