Productinformation

The Atropurpureum is known species of the Japanese maples. This beautiful Japanese maple is a real eye-catcher for every garden or balcony. It forms a branched, upright shrub with dark red, incised leaves that turn a beautiful shade in the autumn. The maple loses its leaves during the winter, however, due to its whimsical branch structure it is still a very decorative addition.

Care
The Acer Atropurpureum can be placed in half sun as well as shade, bright sunlight can cause damage to the leaves. The maple is very hardy; in the open ground it can endure up to - 20 °C. When the maple is planted in a pot, make sure that it is protected from frost by a cover. Japanese Maples can best be planted from March to the beginning of November. In this period the soil is warm and the plants can root well. Japanese Maples are strong plants but in a windy location the leaves can be damaged. So put the Acer in a sheltered place. The plant prefers a spot in the semi-shade, preferably not too much direct sunlight. Too much direct sunlight can cause the roots to dry out, which can lead to leaf loss and burning. A Japanese Maple is not evergreen, which means that it loses its leaves in winter. However, the plant is very hardy and will sprout again in March with beautiful new leaves.

Plantheight

The plant has a height of 60 to 70 cm on delivery (measured incl. Pot). The plant is supplied in pot with a diameter/diameter of 19 cm.
