Phoenix Canariensis

The Phoenix Canariensis, better known as the Canary date palm, comes from the Canary Islands. There are many different types of Phoenix, of which the Canariensis is the best known and most common. Phoenix Canariensis can be found in any tropical climate today, but in Spain and Italy these palms are often used as planting material along public roads or planted as ornamental plants. In a tropical climate, this palm can grow up to 18 meters high with leaves 5 to 6 meters long.
