Epiphyllum Anguliger 'Saw blade cactus'- Pot 15cm - Height 30-40cm

Epiphyllum Anguliger, also known as the "fishbone (saw) cactus," is a special and eye-catching plant that should definitely not be missing from your collection. The flat, zigzag-shaped leaves resemble a fishbone and give this plant a unique look. The Epiphyllum is a succulent often sold as a hanging plant. It is native to Mexico and parts of the Americas and the Caribbean. The large, funnel-shaped flowers this plant can get complete the picture. This epiphytic plant grows naturally on other plants or trees and therefore does not need much direct sunlight. Epiphyllum Anguliger thrives best in lightly shaded environments and needs well-drained soil, such as cactus soil. Do not overwater the plant and make sure the soil is allowed to dry completely between waterings. The plant thrives in temperatures between 15 and 25 degrees Celsius.

The saw cactus is very suitable as a hanging plant. In the beginning the leaves grow straight up. Later when they are +/- 30cm long they start to grow drooping. Eventually the leaves of the Epiphyllum Anguliger can grow up to 1 meter.

Not only the leaves of the Epiphyllum Anguliger are beautiful, but also the flowers that appear in the summer. These are large, up to 12cm and creamy white in color. They emit a slightly sweet fragrance. However, the flowers of the saw cactus stay open for one day so don't miss this moment! If you take good care of the Epiphyllum Anguliger, this plant can be easily propagated by taking cuttings. With its striking appearance and easy care, the saw cactus is an excellent choice for both novice and experienced plant lovers. 

In nature, the Epiphyllum Anguliger is found in subtropical forests in Mexico. Because of this, this saw cactus does want a little more water than an ordinary cactus and can stand a little longer in wet soil. In summer, water the plant once every two weeks, in winter this may be even less. Let the soil dry out well before watering again. When the Epiphyllum stands in wet soil, the roots can rot. 

The plant has a height of 30 to 40 cm (measured incl. pot). The plant comes in a pot with a diameter of 15cm.
