Product Information
Ficus Ginseng grows in the beautiful south of China and Malaysia. Ginseng is the Chinese word for "root," which refers to the plant's root stalk. It takes years to form the whimsical shape of this root stalk. Then the small-leaved ficus is grafted onto the root stalk. With much patience, the plant is pruned, creating the bonsai-like shape. The genus Ficus belongs to the mulberry plant family (Moraceae) and is one of the most popular types of Bonsai for beginners.

Care
Ficus Ginseng (also called Ficus Microcarpa Ginseng) requires a light location without bright sun. The lighter the plant stands, the more water it needs. So water regularly, never let the pot ball dry out. The plant can also stand outside for a while in summer, provided the temperature does not go below 12-15 degrees Celsius. Yellow, brown or ugly leaves can be removed. Should you wish to prune the plant, this is best done in the fall. To give the plant some extra vitality, it can be fed with Bonsai food.

Note: In the beginning the Bonsai may lose leaves, this is not harmful. The plant needs some time to "get used" to its new place, therefore do not move it too often. New leaves will grow naturally. Always provide sufficient light and water in the beginning.

Plant height
The plants have a height of 55 to 65 cm (measured incl. pot). The plants are delivered in pots with a diameter of 20cm.
