The Ficus Lyrata has been one of the most popular houseplants sold for decades. The plant is easily recognized by its large leaves. Because the leaves have a narrow base and a wider tip, the plant is also called the fiddle plant. When the leaves are dried, they can be used for the outside of cigars. This also explains the plant's second nickname, the tobacco plant. Originally, Ficus Lyrata comes from the African rainforests, where it can grow up to 20 meters tall with leaves 50cm in size. Doesn't that sound like music to your ears?
Ficus Lyrata is a real sun worshipper. They love a place in front of the window, the more (sun)light the better. Furthermore, when watering it is better not to give too much water at once. It is best to keep the soil slightly moist. It is not bad if the soil dries out a little. Also, the violin plant likes high humidity, so it is recommended to water the plant occasionally. Do choose a place out of the reach of children and pets because the leaves are slightly toxic and if ingested, they cause bumps on the skin. Eventually, Ficus Lyrata can grow over 3 meters indoors!
On delivery, the plants have a height of 80 to 100cm (measured incl. pot). The plants are delivered in pots with a diameter of 21cm.
