More information

The Washingtonia is also called the 'Mexican Fan Palm'. This palm owes its name to the first president of the United States, George Washington. The leaves of the Washingtonia, which are characterized by their beautiful light green color, are particularly large and can reach a diameter of one meter. It is a fast grower and can grow up to 15 meters high. This palm is ideal as a patio palm, garden palm or even as a room palm.

Care
The Washingtonia Robusta prefers a sunny position and a well-drained soil. Regularly water the palm during the summer, preferably every day in a dry / warm summer. Like many tropical palms, the Washingtonia produces a large root system to provide itself with nutrition and water. The plant can be kept in the ground as well as in a pot, but if the pot is too small, the palm will turn yellowish and die slowly. So make sure you have a spacious pot and a well drained soil. The palm can be kept both indoors and outdoors, but unfortunately it is not hardy. The Washingtonia can withstand a maximum of a few degrees (+/- 5 degrees) of frost. However, when the Washingtonia is kept in a pot, it can easily be placed inside during the winter.

Size
The plant has a height of 70-90cm upon delivery, measured including the nursery pot. The plant is supplied in a nursery pot with a diameter of 21cm.
