More information

No berries taste better than berries from your own garden. With this mix you can grow your own berry plants and harvest the berries a few months later. The Berry mix contains 4 different plants which grow different types of berries. Following types of berry plants are included: Rubus Thornless Evergreen (Bramble) With easy to harvest fruits due to Rubus 'Thornless Evergreen' being a thornless variety, this hardy, blackberry bush will produce high yields of large berries every August. White flowers appear on the shrub in summer, speckling the evergreen foliage with a promise of the crop to come, as the fruits develop they will change from green to red until they are a plump, glossy black, the indication to you that they are ready to pick! Ribes Uva Crispa (Gooseberry) Gooseberries can be picked early in the season for savoury sauces or left on the bush to ripen, gradually becoming deliciously sweet and juicy. Unlike other varieties the fruits of this variety have a delicious aromatic flavour with a hint of apricot. Ribes rubrum (Redcurrant) Currants have a long cropping season, freeze well and are perfect for pies and jams. Large luscious red fruits are produced in profusion from mid-July, and through August. Ribes nigrum (Black Currant) The blackcurrant (Ribes nigrum) is a woody shrub grown for its piquant berries. It is native to central and northern Europe and northern Asia where it prefers damp fertile soils and is widely cultivated both commercially and domestically. It is winter hardy but cold weather at flowering time during the spring reduces the size of the crop. Bunches of small, glossy black fruit develop along the stems in the summer. The raw fruit is particularly rich in vitamin C.

Care
All benefit from regular pruning to promote growth and maintain good air circulation. The latter can be done by using airy soil and watering regularly.
