This beautiful Kentia palm, also known as the Howea Forsteriana, truly creates exotic atmospheres in the home. The palm originates from Australia, but is very popular indoors. This species of Forsteriana is the only Kentia grown in our regions. The plant belongs to the palm family and is one of the oldest houseplants! It is also a relatively slow growing and strong palm, making care quite easy.
Care
The Kentia is ideal for people without green fingers, as the plant needs very little water. From February to September, weekly watering is sufficient. For the rest of the year, water the plant once a month. Furthermore, the ideal room temperature for the Kentia is between 15C° and 25C°. The plant needs plenty of light, but does not like direct sunlight, as this burns its leaves. The palm therefore prefers a shady or semi-shady place. Therefore, place the plant preferably near a north-facing window. If the leaves become lighter or yellow, it could mean that it is getting too much sunlight. In that case, move the Kentia to a more shady spot.
Plant height
When delivered, the plants have a height of 90 to 100cm (measured incl. pot). The plants are delivered in pots with a diameter/diameter of 18cm.
