Origin

Monstera is from Central America (Mexico) and belongs to the Araceae family. This plant is also known by the name Swiss cheese plant. The plant thrives well under very humid conditions: the more humid the environment, the larger the leaf. But this plant can also withstand somewhat drier air.

Care

The Monstera likes a lot of light or partial shade but no direct sunlight.
The ideal air temperature 18 - 22 ° C. Draft does not like the plant.

Water

Keep moist, add lukewarm water once a week, potting soil must not dry out.

The leaves of a young plant show incisions, later holes appear in the somewhat older leaves. This does not happen if the plant is too dark. Dull leaf starts to shine again when it is removed with a cloth with buttermilk. Air roots that are formed on older plants may be cut off.
