Product Information
Few plants conjure up such impressive flowers as the peony. This set of three peonies contains three different varieties, each with its own beautiful color. The peony (peony for short) is part of the Paeoniaceae family. Almost all peonies come from Asia. The name derives from the Paiôn,the physician of the Greek gods. The peony is considered a sign of love, happiness, health, prosperity and blossoming romance. This peony grows beautiful, full, flowers during May through June. The species is similar to the rose family because of its brightly colored flowers. Furthermore, the peony is perfect as a garden plant, but also for in bouquets. As long as the peony stands in slightly moist soil it is very hardy (down to about -10 degrees).

In autumn-winter the tuber dies off above ground and will hardly develop. So don't stress if you only see a piece of tuber in the pot, this is perfectly normal. Underground, however, everything is going on. New eyes are developing here, the sprouting stems on which the flowers will appear in spring.

This set contains 3 different varieties of peonies:
Peony officinalis 'Rubra Plena' (red)
Peony hybrid 'Sarah Bernhardt' (pink)
Peony hybrid 'Duchasse de Nemours' (white)

Care
Peonies like a lot of sunlight because they are a hard blooming species, with the result that the flowers also need a lot of water. So it is recommended to water them daily, especially during the warmer seasons. Furthermore, it is best to prune the plant when it has finished blooming, approximately in July. Then cut the flowers just above the ground. This avoids the risk of mold. It is also advisable to support the flowers with a stick or clip. This makes the peonies stand stronger.

Plant height
Upon delivery, the plants have a height of 0 to 40 cm (measured incl. pot). The plants are delivered in pots with a diameter of 9cm.
