One of the best known from the Photinia family is the Red Robin. This species is known for its bright red leaves in spring. The glossy new leaves and red stems form a strong contrast to the mature green leaves lower down the plant, creating a striking two-tone effect. The spring foliage is complemented by round clusters of creamy white flowers. This popular evergreen shrub is versatile, being well suited both as a shrub and as a hedge plant. If used as a hedge, this plant may be pruned heavily in the spring to maintain its shape.
Care
The Photinia Red Robin prefers a moist soil that is well-drained. Furthermore, a sunny position is desired, which should be somewhat sheltered; the Photinia does not like too much wind. Early in the year it is best to prune the plant, cut away dead or damaged branches.

On delivery, the plants have a height of 30 to 40cm (measured incl. pot). The plants are delivered in pots with a diameter of 17cm.
