The Japanese Maple Iniba Shidare is an unusual Japanese maple. It is native to Japan and Korea. It has a beautiful wine-red color that changes to deep red to orange-red in the fall. They grow in the shape of a mushroom, more in width than in length. They can reach a width of up to 4 meters! In addition to the beautifully colored leaves, beautiful purple-red flower clusters appear from April to May.
Care
This plant is not difficult to care for. It is content when placed in a spot in semi-shade in well-drained soil. When the Japanese maple gets enough water in summer, the colors will also be more intense in autumn. Pruning is not necessary, but when necessary it is best done in the fall. The Iniba Shidare is hardy, but deciduous.
