Productinformation

Bring your garden, terrace or balcony into an Oriental atmosphere with these beautifully coloured Japanese Maples. Japanese Maples are known for their beautifully coloured leaves and are real eye-catchers. Each tree has its own beautiful colours and leaves. This set contains 4 different types of Japanese Maples that will bring variety to your garden with their different colours. The plants are winter hardy and can therefore be planted in the garden. Plant them in the ground or in pots, separately or as a group. The Japanese maples grow to different heights and can therefore be placed together perfectly. They can also be pruned into beautiful bonsai trees!

There are 4 different species in the set:

Acer palm. Orange Dream
Acer palmatum 'Orange Dream' is a tall Japanese Maple with yellow/orange coloured leaves. This Japanese Maple is remarkable because it grows more upright than most other Japanese Maples. It can reach a height of 8 metres but can easily be pruned. If the plant receives enough light, it will also keep its leaves at the bottom. The leaf buds out in spring with an orange-yellow colour, in summer the leaf is yellow-green, followed by a beautiful yellow autumn colour. This species is very hardy.

Acer palm. Atropurpureum

This beautiful Japanese Maple is an ornament to any garden. This plant forms a branched upright shrub with dark red incised leaves, which turn a beautiful autumn colour. This Maple can reach a height of no less than 8 metres and a width of 250 cm. You can prune the long shoots in March for compact growth. The Atropurpuream can be placed in a sunny spot as well as in the shade. This plant is very winter hardy.

Acer palm. Butterfly

This beautiful Japanese Maple is an ornament in every garden, but also does well in a pot or tray on the terrace or balcony. This slow growing plant forms a branched upright bush with pink, white and green variegated leaves. Butterfly' can reach a height of 150cm and a width of 75 to 100cm. This hardy maple has few demands as to location and does not need pruning.

Acer palm. Going Green

Acer palmatum 'Going Green' is a Japanese Maple with fresh green leaves and yellow-orange autumn colours. Very attractive for this species are the bright green twigs, which are particularly conspicuous in winter. It is a very strong plant that can easily grow to 200 cm or higher. Pruning is not a problem, but should be done in late summer or early autumn. This Maple species does not like the full sun.

Care

Japanese Maples can best be planted from March until the beginning of October. In this period the soil is warmer and the plants can root well. In a planter this plant does not require special potting soil. Japanese maples are strong plants but in a windy location the leaves can be damaged. So put the Acer in a sheltered place. The plant prefers a spot in the semi-shade, preferably not too much direct sunlight. Too much direct sunlight can cause the roots to dry out, which can lead to leaf loss and burning. A Japanese Maple is not evergreen, which means that it loses its leaves in winter. However, the plant is very hardy and will sprout again in March with beautiful new leaves.

Plantheight

The plants have a height of 25 to 40 cm on delivery (measured incl. Pot). The plants are supplied in pots with a diameter of 10.5 cm.
