The Brighamia is an unusual palm tree native to Hawaii. The plant grows endemically, which means it is only found in a certain area. In this case, the Brighamia grows only in Hawaii. This plant has long been threatened with extinction but thanks to specialized breeding techniques, that is no longer the case and today it can even be bought as a houseplant. As a houseplant, the plant is notable for its distinctive appearance: the fleshy stem is formed by a large wreath of pale green leaves. The small yellow flowers appear in October and November.
Care
The palm may lose leaves due to change of location or stress during winter periods. This is a natural phenomenon and new leaves will soon grow in return. Do not worry if the lower leaves turn yellow and fall off. This is a natural process which ensures that the plant retains its distinct appearance.
Important; do not place the Birghamia in a sunny spot. This palm does not like direct sunlight and prefers shade/half shade.
