The Crossandra Fortuna is a member of the family Acanthaceae. The Crossandra originated in India, Malaysia, Sri Lanka and Madagascar. In India, the plant is mainly used in performing various traditions. The flowers are used there for decoration. The strong, non-scented flowers are very popular because of their bright color and good vase life. Crossandra can continue to bloom from March through October with new orange petals.
Care
The plant's flowering period begins in spring and ends in fall. To keep the plant looking permanently beautiful, it is recommended to remove dead flowers regularly. The plant likes sunlight but try to avoid placing the plant in full sunlight. The plant requires regular watering, make sure the soil does not dry out. In the winter months, the plant requires less water and the soil may be drier. It is recommended to fertilize the Crossandra a few times a year. The plant will grow about 100cm tall.
