Product Information
Dionaea muscipula, commonly known as the "Venus flytrap", is a fascinating carnivorous plant native to the coastal plains of North and South Carolina in the United States. This unique plant has captivated lovers around the world due to its fascinating adaptation to carnivorous diets. The main advantage of the Venus flytrap is its exceptional ability to capture and digest insects. Their specialized leaves, called “traps,” are equipped with sensitive hairs that, when stimulated, cause the trap to close quickly, trapping any unsuspecting prey. This interactive behavior makes Dionaea muscipula an exciting addition to any plant collection, where you can observe the plant's natural hunting mechanisms up close.

Care
When it comes to plant care, the Venus flytrap requires special attention to thrive. It thrives in a humid environment, which requires the use of distilled water or rainwater to avoid mineral buildup. Additionally, plenty of sunlight is crucial for its growth, with at least four to six hours of direct sunlight daily recommended. The Venus flytrap prefers nutrient-poor soil and is usually cultivated in a mixture of peat moss and perlite or sand. As for nutrition, although the plant can catch its own prey, additional feeding with small insects such as fruit flies can contribute to its growth and development. Overall, a good balance between moisture, light and a suitable substrate is the key to successful Dionaea muscipula care.

Planting height
The plants are 5-10 cm high when delivered (measured including pot). The plants are delivered in pots with a diameter of 5.5 cm.
