Dracaena, also known as the dragon's blood tree, is one of the strongest and easiest houseplants to care for. The word Dracaena comes from the Greek word "drakaina," which means "female dragon. The plant got the name because some Dracaena species possess red sap such as the Dracaena Draco. This sap used to be considered a dragon's leaf. The Dracaena is the perfect houseplant for those without a green thumb. In fact, it can survive for weeks without water or care. It is a tropical plant native to the rainforests of Asia, Africa and Central America.
Care
The Dracaena Marginata grows wider and larger as it grows older and produces new side branches. You can best place the plant in a light spot (half sun) but a place in the shade is also very suitable for this plant. For the leaf color, however, a light spot out of the sun is best. This species of Dracaena has beautiful fresh green leaves with a nice thin red decorative edge around the leaf.
Plant height
The plants have a height of 70 to 80cm on delivery (measured incl. pot). The plants are delivered in pots with a diameter of 17cm.
