More information
One of the best known in the Photinia family is the Red Robin. This species is known for its bright red leaves in the spring. The shiny new leaves and red stems form a strong contrast to the mature green leaves lower in the plant, which gives a striking bicolor effect. The spring leaves are supplemented with round clusters of cream-white flowers. This popular evergreen shrub is versatile, both as a shrub and as a hedge plant it is very suitable. If this plant is used as a hedge, it may be pruned considerably in the spring to maintain its shape.
Care
The Photinia Red Robin prefers a moist soil that is well-drained. Furthermore, a sunny position is desired, which should be somewhat sheltered: the Photinia does not like too much wind. Early in the year it is best to prune the plant, cut away dead or damaged branches.
Size
The plants have a height of 30-40cm upon delivery, measured including the nursery pot. The plants are supplied in a nursery pot with a diameter of 17cm.
