The hydrangea (S)witch Ophelia enchants your garden. From June to September, it changes color in fascinating ways. The color spectacle begins with pale lime yellow that over time magically turns first pure white and then changes to old rose. This Hydrangea flowers for over 150 days. The blossoms eventually turn red, which is particularly decorative, even for flower arrangers. The blossoms may remain on the plant all winter and must be removed in the spring. The hydrangea paniculata (S)witch Ophelia is very robust and hardy. A plant that enchants its surroundings, to be planted in a container on the balcony or patio.
Care
Hydrangeas do not like drought and need quite a bit of water especially in the summer. It is best to give the hydrangea a large amount of water at once rather than a small amount every now and then. The plant can be planted from March to mid-October, either in the open ground or in an ornamental pot although it grows best in the open ground. When planting, keep a distance of 75cm between plants. Pruning the plant is best done in March, cut back about 30cm above the ground. The harder you prune back the Ophelia, the larger the flowers will become.
