The bright Loropetalum, better known in Holland as the Fringe Tree, originally grows on mountain slopes in China. This beautiful ornamental shrub flowers from February to April, making it the ideal plant to brighten up your garden early in the year. The bright red flowers contrast beautifully with the dark foliage of 'Ever Red'. Even after flowering, this shrub still remains very beautiful thanks to its dark red leaves, which remain on the shrub year-round. The 'Ever Red' is hardy to -10. Should it be in a pot and it gets colder than -10, it is definitely recommended to move it to a place where it does not freeze. The plant grows to an average height of 75 cm, making it suitable for both garden and balcony pots.
Care
The 'Ever Red' prefers a sunny to semi-shaded position. Maintenance is easy making the plant suitable even for people without green fingers. This perennial ornamental shrub thrives best in a well-drained and humus-rich soil. If you want to prune the shrub, prune the long branches after flowering. Then you keep your shrub nice and compact.
