The Medinilla Magnifica Pinatubo is a beautiful houseplant known for its hanging flowers. Originally, the Medinilla Magnifica comes from the Philippines, where locals call the plant "Kapa-Kapa. There, the plants live as epiphytes: they live on other plants without extracting food from them. In fact, they get the moisture they need from the air. In the Philippines, the plant can easily grow one and a half meters tall! As a houseplant, however, it does not grow that fast, reaching a maximum height of one meter. Between the gracefully wavy leaves grow square stems in high arches that feel like cork. Large pink bubbles grow on these. As soon as they open, another cluster of pink flowers emerges. So there is always something going on with Medinilla Magnifica!
Care
The Medinilla Magnifica Pinatubo is a plant known for its somewhat difficult care. This fear is unfounded, a Medinilla is actually very easy to care for. To properly care for a plant, you need to know and copy its natural environment. Originally from a tropical environment, the Medinilla gets its moisture from the air. So make sure it has high humidity and spray the plant occasionally. Do not water the plant too much, preferring small amounts. The leaves start drooping as soon as the plant needs water. Furthermore, the Medinilla likes a somewhat higher temperature; it cannot stand the cold very well. It is advisable to remove the old flower stems once the flower has finished blooming. After this, the Medinilla can grow new leaves and maybe even flowers!

When delivered, the plants have a height of 40 to 50cm (measured incl. pot). The plants are delivered in pots with a diameter/diameter of 17cm.
