The Monstera Deliciosa is also called the Hole plant in the Netherlands. The plant owes this name to the special shape of the leaves, as holes appear in the leaves as the plant ages. The Gatenplant is a real tropical climber, which can climb very high. In addition, with proper care, the Monstera can grow extremely fast. And care is not very difficult, the Monstera is an easy plant as it does not require much light. With its distinctive aerial roots, nutrients and moisture are absorbed from the trunk, as well as from the air. In the jungle it is mainly dark, which is why the hole plant grows well in shady places.
Care
The Monstera is a very strong houseplant that can be placed in a darker place. The plant does not like direct sunlight, which can burn its leaves. The Monstera Deliciosa is a creeping climber and can withstand drought well, but prefers a little more water. The plant, which can live for many years, can grow considerably when properly cared for. The growth rate decreases sharply at very low temperatures of ten degrees Celsius or less. Furthermore, the Monstera is a strong air-purifying plant.
