The olive shrub, officially Olea Europaea, is a species of the oldest tree known in history. With their silvery leaves, and clusters of fragrant white flowers in spring, these distinctive shrubs are wonderful eye-catchers in the garden during all seasons. It is a beautiful evergreen shrub that adds a Mediterranean touch to the garden or balcony. Olive bushes are very hardy, making them ideal for colder areas. And of course the shrub also grows real olives!
Care
Olive bushes are ideal for any garden. The bushes can be planted in pots and set out on the patio, or they can be planted in the ground. Olive bushes prefer a sunny spot and do not like wet feet. So when planting the shrub in a pot, make sure the pot has holes at the bottom so excess water can drain away. Water the olive bush regularly in the spring and summer. Pruning is not necessary for now, but is best done in early spring or fall (around October). Before the olives grow, the Olea blooms in the spring with small creamy white and yellow flowers. The olives can be harvested while they are still green or after they have fully ripened in late fall, depending on how they will be used.
Plant height
Upon delivery, the plants have a height of 25 to 40cm (measured pot included). The plants are delivered in pots with a diameter of 14cm.
