In East Asia, the plant is considered an element that brings prosperity and good fortune to the home according to the teachings of Feng Shui. The 5 leaves on each branch symbolize the 5 basic elements of Feng Shui: metal, wood, water, fire and earth. The Pachira is a plant with many nicknames. Among other things, it is called Water Cocoa or Money Tree. The plant owes this name to the fact that in the Far East, the leaves are thought to catch money. That makes this plant an ideal gift for a birthday, housewarming or wedding. The Pachira is a true tropical plant. It is native to the swamps of eastern Brazil, Panama and Costa Rica. Here the plant can grow up to 20 meters high.

The Pachira is ideal for people who sometimes forget their plants, because it does not make many demands. And the braided stem makes the Pachira look very special! The Pachira likes a bright spot, and not too close to the window. It stores water in its trunk, so the soil has to be dry before it is watered again. In winter the plant likes to be watered, this prevents leaf loss and stimulates the production of new leaves. Old leaves can be cut out quietly. In summer, the plant will need watering about 2 times a week.
