Washingtonia Robusta
The Washingtonia Robusta originates from the south of the United States and Mexico. The Washingtonia is also known as the 'Mexican Fan Palm'. This palm owes its name to the first president of the United States, George Washington. In California it is also known as the 'petticoat palm' because the dead leaves remain hanging like a skirt round the trunk of the palm tree. This palm is very suitable as a patio palm, garden palm or even as a house palm.
Phoenix Canariensis
The Phoenix Canariensis originates from the Canary Islands. There are many different Phoenix species, of which the Canariensis is the best known and most common. Nowadays the Phoenix Canariensis can be found in every tropical climate. In Spain and Italy, these palms are often used as planting material along public roads. A Phoenix can grow to a height of 18 meters with leaves 5 to 6 meters long in a tropical climate. This palm is moderately hardy and can withstand up to 5 degrees frost.
Yucca Elephantipes
The Yucca Elephantipes is a true indoor palm and originates in Central America. Here it is grown in large nurseries deep in the rain forest. The Yucca gets its name from its heavy root stock, resembling an elephant's feet. The leaf of the Yucca Elephantipes is thick with a sharp, finely serrated edge.
Plant height
Upon delivery, the plants have a height of 50 to 70cm (measured pot included). The plants are delivered in pots with a diameter of 14cm.
