Pittosporum tobira "Nanum" is also known in Dutch as Australian laurel. It is a compact, evergreen shrub with a bushy, round upright form and glossy, leathery, oval leaves. The leaves are initially bright green in color, later becoming slightly darker and more gray-green. The Pittosporum blooms in April and May with creamy white star-shaped flowers. The flowers also spread a delicious sweet orange scent.
Care
The Pittosporum tobira Nanum is moderately hardy and should always be protected in winter or moved to a greenhouse as a tub plant. The plant is very resistant to sea breezes and also attracts bees and butterflies. Furthermore, it likes a sunny to semi-sunny position. The shrub can grow up to 1.5 meters tall. Finally, it is important to know that the Pittosporum is poisonous.
