Grow pears in your own garden with the Pyrus communis Conference pear tree! This tree grows deliciously juicy hand pears that you can harvest from September through the end of November. The picked pears can be stored in a cool place for a few baskets after harvest. Besides producing delicious fruit, it also brightens up your garden with its beautiful white blossoms. The Pyrus communis Conference is a self-pollinating tree, which means you don't need a second fruit tree to grow fruit.
Care
For all fruit, the more sun the better they will grow, and this is also the case for the pear. Therefore, make sure the pear tree is in a sunny spot. The tree can be pruned after flowering or in winter. At these times there is the least chance of damage. In mid-winter, you can shorten newly formed branches to within 20 centimeters. You do this with the main stem as well. After this winter pruning, wild shoots will form, which you can prune away again in the summer.
