Sansevieria's are originally from Africa and are one of the easiest houseplants to care for. The plant is also called "Snake Plant". With its beautiful upward thickened leaves, the Sansevieria is a true masterpiece to see. Characterised by its green and yellow striped leaves, it is known for its stylish appearance and easy maintenance. It is an ideal houseplant for forgetful waterers or people without 'green fingers'. The Sansevieria Laurentii is known for its air-purifying abilities, making it the ideal plant to purify the air in your home or office. It filters harmful substances from the air and helps to reduce headaches, allergies and other health problems associated with poor air quality.
Care
Sansevierias are very easy plants to care for. It can grow almost anywhere, whether in a bright or darker location. The most ideal location is a bright spot with sun to semi-shade. The plant requires little water. The 'only way' to kill a Sansevieria is to give the plant too much water. It is important that all soil has dried thoroughly before you water the plant again, otherwise there is a risk of root rot. During the winter, the plant can go without water for 6 to 8 weeks. During the growing season (in spring and summer) watering once every 2 weeks is sufficient. The plant performs well in both a dark and light location.
